We Love Vera Wang!

Vera Wang has become one of pop culture’s most iconic fashion designers thanks to the girls of Sex and The City.  While she is notorious for her extravagant bridal gowns, she has also dressed many a figure skater for competition (including Nancy Kerrigan and Michelle Kwan).  In the past decade, she expanded her brand to include jewelry, eyewear, and fragrances, and she has recently created a more affordable bridal line for David’s Bridal, and a lower priced fashion line that can be found exclusively at Kohl’s.

It is no wonder that Vera Wang has created a solid foundation for her unique yet classic looks as she initially worked as the senior fashion editor for Vogue  for 16 years before joining fashion legend Ralph Lauren as a design director.  Her trademark looks are made up of Earthy colors like deep browns and plums mixed in with fresh and trendier designs and patterns.  Whether you are wearing one of her faux fur parkas or a pair of her peep-toed platforms, you’ll always have an edge over any other casual look found at the normal go-to stores like Banana Republic or J Crew.

This year, Vera Wang’s collections have combined the looks of a normal average girl who doesn’t know what she wants and is still trying to find herself in the world with the tense and darker characteristics of film noir.  While her line reflects the original trends and spirit of the American girl, her clothing also reflects the glamour and style of the English aristocracy.  So the next time you’re running out the door for your Monday morning meeting, make sure you grab a jacket or hoodie from this winter’s Vera Wang collection, as it’ll leave you feeling rebellious, romantic, and fabulous.
