Princess Diana is our Style Icon

Since we just found out that England is going to have a new princess, the fashionable and grounded Kate Middleton, I thought it would be appropriate to salute the gorgeous style icon that came before her, Princess Diana.

There was something about Princess Di. She carried herself with a very regal elegance that translated into timeless style. I grew up in awe of her. It was more than tiaras and fancy ball gowns, though. It was her grace. And I definitely think there is something to learn from that. When you look pulled-together and carry yourself with poise, your style gets a definite boost. I always felt that’s what made Diana’s style near-perfect. Read more

The Hair Evolution of Rihanna

A lot of girls panic at the thought of changing their hairstyle. It seems so permanent, and so we just put it off. We can often get caught in a hair rut without a little variation, though.

Rihanna is the queen of hair changes.  She just debuted a long, red look this week—another change for this singing star.  I love that she can take bold risks with her locks. Whether it’s playing with asymmetry, dying it a bold color, adding extensions of even buzzing half her head, she is always updating her style and her hair!  I think we can all learn a little bit from Rihanna’s awesome hair looks, and there are a few of her styles that I loved best. Hair Trend 2010 Modern Pixie

Seemingly everywhere I turn, another member of Hollywood’s elite is chopping her locks daringly short.  The latest star to rock a pixie-cut? Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.  Earlier this week, she stepped out at the Decades Denim event in L.A. with her new ‘do.  Channeling the iconic look of Edie Sedgewick with smudged eyeliner and wispy bangs, Ashlee now seems every bit the mod Hollywood princess.  And she isn’t the only one to take this look for a spin.  Tons of actresses are going against the grain of long blonde locks and instead sporting perfect pixies.
